Clifton was tasked with refurbishing a tenth-floor apartment untouched for over four decades—a time capsule waiting to be reborn as a luxury London pied-à-terre for our client. The apartment was stripped back to its concrete core, opening the way for a complete reimagining.
The new arrangement orbits around light and flow. The main reception cleverly unites an open-plan kitchen and dining area with the living room and a study-meditation space. Bespoke joinery, a blend of herringbone and plank oak flooring, and coffered ceilings subtly define each zone, creating a harmonious expanse. The result is a space that feels greater than the sum of its parts, all benefiting from sweeping southern views of the city.
Oak floors and natural linen curtains anchor the apartment in quiet elegance. In the kitchen Taj Mahal marble and polished plaster create a backdrop for daily rituals—a palette that continues into the living room joinery. Elsewhere, the master suite is a study in subtle luxury, where silk-embroidered Fromental wallcoverings pair with refined De Le Cuona fabrics and Ceccotti furniture. The bathroom is understated, yet elevated by two onyx feature walls and Salvatori tiles.
The result: a home that is both grounded and otherworldly—a contemporary retreat where the stars feel just a little closer.

Textile interplay
A refined interplay of textures and patterns brings depth and warmth to this home. In the living room, the subtle pattern of a Luke Irwin rug anchors the space, paired with a sofa in a natural bouclé and an armchair clad in Dedar’s bold Tiger Mountain. Linen curtains flow throughout, softening the light and adding a gentle rhythm to each room. In the bedrooms, velvet headboards introduce a touch of richness, complemented by bespoke cushions with fabrics from De Le Cuona and Rubelli. Every fabric was chosen for its tactile appeal, creating a sensory landscape that’s as inviting as it is elegant.
