House Above the Heath
This unusual 1960s Grade II listed property was originally designed to be a striking contemporary home. Through a sensitive approach and a respect for its strong architectural language, Listed Building Consent was secured to bring this house into the 21st century. The interior design package incorporated commissioned artwork and furniture with strong colours to produce a special family home located above Hampstead Heath in North London. Complex issues surrounding the lighting, heating and security were resolved and a modern smart controls network was installed to bring the six-bedroom house up to date. The project also involved the design for a painting studio in the garden, conversion of an existing swimming pool into a games room and complete renewal of the hard and soft landscaping. Original pieces of furniture and lighting from the 1960s and 70s were sourced and integrated with contemporary furniture. The interior design package included bespoke joinery which worked around the complexity of a Grade II listed property.
