Family Home on the Heath

Large family living and entertaining spaces were a priority for the owners of this period property in North London. The house was stripped back to its shell of external walls and then extended at garden, raised-ground and first floor levels. This created a new dwelling 78% larger than the original. An integrated design scheme included a garden studio, large kitchen/family/reception spaces at garden and ground levels and a series of bedroom suites crowned by a penthouse loft with a view of the Wembley arch. The clients expressed a passion for colour and were influential in the progression of the interior design. A terracotta specialist-painted wall transcends the double-height space of the ground floor living room and kitchen below. In addition, a bespoke chandelier links the space further. The house used a rich palette of materials including Burlington green stone, Elmwood floors and staircase, leather details to handrails, wardrobe joinery and a bespoke metal-finished dining table.
